Quickstart Guide
Typography
OUR TYPEFACE
Our typeface is Sons Tab.
Body copy should be minimum 10pt for print applications, 16pt for digital. But bigger is better. We also like generous line height. Set it to 1.5 in Microsoft Word, or calculate 150% of type size.

No italics, no underlines, no hyphenation. Left aligned where possible.

TYPE WEIGHT
Our default weight is Medium for headlines, Regular for body copy.
For Private Wealth applications, we drop a weight, so it’s Regular for headlines, Light for body copy.
If you need to emphasise a certain word, you may increase it by a single weight.  Do not use the 'Bold' button in Word. This will not set the type to the correct weight. You need to specifically change the selected font within the set.

Colour
PRIMARY BLACK & WHITE
We are a black and white brand. Where possible, this should be our palette across all communcations. We use colour to distinguish our range of investment products, or to provide subtle highlights.

BLUE
We use a vibrant, digitally-focused blue for any communications where we need additional standout. This is especially useful for screen-based layouts, where you need to call attention to a particular UI element.

Brandmarks
OUR MARKS
There are two versions of our marks: black for applications against a
white background, or white for instances where the mark is against either
a dark or coloured background. The marks should never be used in any other colour.

When the marks are used against photographic imagery, the white version should always be used. Ensure that it is placed over a clean photographic plate with no visual clutter.

PRIVATE WEALTH
Private Wealth gets it’s own distinctive mark to be used sparingly.

USAGE
Our logomark and wordmark are designed to be used together across all our communications. These guides illustrate the visual relationship the two marks should have to each other. Always use one of these two hierarchies when applying our marks.

If neither of the hierachies are possible when applying our logos, ensure the logomark appears first when reading left to right or top to bottom and align items to the grid.

BRAND AND PRODUCT NAMES
NZ Funds is used to describe the company. Always include a space.
New Zealand Funds Management Limited is written in full only when
legally necessary.
KiwiSaver must always have a capital K and S and always written
as one word. The name NZ Funds KiwiSaver Scheme must always
be written in full.
All other product names are written in title case with a space between, for example Wealth Builder, Life Cycle, Self Select, Income Generator etc.
PREFERRED CASING
Only put the first letter of titles into capitals, not the first letter of every word. This makes the titles easier to read.
Use portfolio in lower case except when it is the name of something.
For example: Managed Portfolio Service.
Capitalise ‘Category’ and ‘Component’ when used alongside Cash, Income, Inflation, or Growth.
Use upper-case for table column headers as well as table and graph titles.
CURRENCY
Write million and billion in full words after the numbers except on graphs, tables and charts where space is at a premium.
Use commas to separate eg. $12,000.
Use NZ$ instead of NZD. There is no space between NZ$ and the numbers
eg. NZ$1,000,000.
NUMBERS
Always spell out numbers under 10, i.e. one, two, three... nine. Always use numerals for numbers over nine, i.e. 10, 11, 12.
Always use numerals when the number relates to a unit of measure, price or performance.
Ensure there is a maximum of two decimal places.
Dates should be written as day, month year e.g. 18 April 2016; or 18/4/16;
or 18/04/2016.
